"With just a month left in his tenure as California's chief justice, Ronald George huddled with the media one last time Wednesday, looking back on reforms to the state judiciary and problems with the death penalty system and looking forward to a life outside the courts -- and an upcoming trip to Antarctica.
George, who will be replaced in January by Tani Cantil-Sakauye, made it clear that he's ready to move on after 14 years as the state's most powerful judicial figure and more than three decades on the state bench."
